I keep a foot in the closing door of yesterday
addicted to nostalgia;
That bittersweetness of a world long gone.
Of dreams birthed and friends met.
Here is where I'm wise, where I'm strong.
For rather than challenge myself with who I should be,
I placate myself with who I once was
and bask in the mirage of how far I've come...
