She looked up into my eyes, She stared deep, as if to find my soul.
I saw from the red in her eyes She had felt pain in folds:
She had a father whose love for his child; a taboo
yet he took her by force and her flower he took.
We stood out there for long, for she held on to my jeans
This poor girl at four full of scars on her skin.
Then she beckoned to me and I leaned towards her
She said in whisper to me
'Would you be my new dad?'
Here you'd find them in sorts each with a backstory too
products of neglect and loss and at worse of abuse.
But as we came with our gifts with our hearts full of love
then did we hear them sing in the midst of their sores.
Would you spare them you time?
Would you give them your love?
