We shriveled in our tiny holes
like rabbits to evade the foe.
Our knee-bruised pants would say too much
of how we came to lose our guts.
To think a while back we were kings,
to think a while back we could sing,
but now no one would see our tongues
for why would slaves sing joyful songs?
And then i heard accross the town
about a king, a God, a man
they say his birth defies the known
they say he is one of our own
but in this man we won't believe
'What good could come from Galilee?'
and so we cast him to the skulls
and sit in wait for God's dear son.©AlphaSage
