If you love me for luxuries, for comfort or for fame
If the allure is beauty, charm or passion's flame
If it is for the parties and wildest things in life
or just to douse desire and relish worldly strife
then pull far away from me, my life you've failed to bless
Just a favour I ask of thee "I beg you, love me less"
If all I do is inflict pain upon you everyday
I burden you with guilt and grief, yet am your hope and stay
I cling to you, sap your essence, and pled that you remain
in my life, though you love me I treat you with disdain
Heed my counsel, take the advice "one life the more one love the less"
Flee from me, escape while you can what e'er you do to love me less
For all that I've acquired and all I ever will
Do you love me for riches; a means to pay your bill?
Is it to win the people's heart; a way to acquire fame,
popularity, notoriety or is it just a game?
You rob me of my substance, leave my life in a mess
So now I pled, not much I ask only to love me less
Love me for my virtues and for resident grace
Love me for benevolence, for care and for solace
Love me with my weaknesses and the obvious defect
Love me with my shortcomings, I know I'm not perfect
But if it be for my fair skin,
If it be reasons akin
I pray you LOVE ME LESS!
